On the 27th of October 2018, Pilolo Ghana collaborated with NoRules GH to organise a breast screening for several women at the Kwame Adu Mante Health Post (Market Circle) for free as part of creating awareness on breast cancer. Joining the world as we mark October as the month for breast cancer awareness.
The event saw volunteers and members from Pilolo Ghana and NoRules GH coming together in their numbers to form one body focused on creating awareness on breast cancer. 183 women and 2 men were screened altogether, these people comprised of market women (Traders), shoppers, passers, volunteers and members of both organizations.
October is the dedicated month for breast cancer awareness, several people including organisations have been talking about the causes and prevention of breast cancer some of which includes;
2. Excessive intake of alcohol
3. Obesity, Among others.
Pilolo Ghana and NoRules GH will wish every lady who has the chance to read this article to either perform the self examination technique, or seek professional help to determine early signs of breast cancer or status. Breast screening doesn’t mean you have breast cancer, let us remove that myth, it is just to help make sure you are safe and also help to detect early signs.
Both organizations will like to express their appreciation towards all participants and benefactors who made the event successful, as well as all who supported the project one way or another.
We say Ayekoo.
The event was supported by the Ghana Health Service, the Kwame Adu Mante Health Post (Market Circle), Paragon 99.9fm, Mariestopes, Pencil and Pixels, Pyro Studios and VMinc.
