NPA BOARD MEMBER LOSES POLLING STATION CHAIRMANSHIP

George Okley Mensah, a board member of the national petroleum authority is been massively defeated by Richmond Owusu, aid to the minister for Fisheries and Acquaculture Development.

The duo, contested the chairmanship position for Buade Last Stop polling station in the Krowor constituency in the Greater Accra Region in the ongoing Polling station executives elections of the New Patriotic Party.

The peaceful election which was conducted by the officer incharge, Mr. Joshua, declared Mr. Richmond Owusu the winner with 25 valid votes as against one vote obtained by the NPA board member.

Even though, Mr. Okley was voted for in absentia, many believe he suspected his massive defeat ahead.

The rest of the positions were declared unopposed as there were no competion. Elections at the various polling stations within the Krowor constituency are largely peaceful, free and fair.

The ongoing exercise is expected to end on Sunday 21st of January nationwide.
