Assembly Members of the newly created Krowor Municipal Assembly, on Wednesday January 9, 2019, gave Joshua Nii Nortey 100 percent endorsement to become the area’s first Municipal Chief Executive (MCE).
An Electoral Commission (EC) representative declared Joshua Nii Nortey as the new MCE, after all nine Assembly members had voted for him in the poll.
The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Ishmael Ashitey, commended the Assembly members for massively endorsing the President’s nominee. He, in the light of that, tasked them to collectively strategize to move forward the development of the municipality.
He charged the new MCE to work hard to vindicate his nomination by the President and remain accountable to the people who endorsed him.
He urged both the Assembly members and community to co-operate with the MCE to enable him work in peace.
Joshua Nii Nortey, the MCE, thanked the Assembly members for the confidence reposed in him and solicited for their support to make him succeed.
Mr Nortey expressed his readiness to partner with the private sector and other stakeholders to propel the growth of the new Assembly.
Ensuring proper sanitation was among his topmost agenda, therefore, Mr Nortey pledged to work hard with the people to keep Krowor Municipality healthy.
