Omanhene of the Effutu Traditional Area and President of the Efutu Traditional Council, Neeyi Ghartey VII has called on the biggest telecommunications giant in Ghana, MTN , to help stream live the 2018 aboakyer festival for indigenes and foreigners leaving abroad, who are unable to come to Ghana gain access to watch the festival live from their various destinations.
According to the chief, lots of people who love the culture of Effutuman are unable to watch, due to distance but hopes the gap will be bridged this year if MTN steps in to stream live.
He made the humble appeal when the biggest telecommunications giant, MTN paid a courtesy call on the Efutu Traditional Council to donate to support the 2018 aboakyer festival .
The donation included Ghs 5,000.00 cash cheque, Ghs500.00 worth of MTN credit, hampers and MTN branded shirts to support the festival.
The Acting Senior Regional Manager of MTN, Mr. Teddy Hayford Acquah who handed over the items revealed the gesture is part of the company’s corporate social responsibility to empower the indigenes to take up responsibilities.
He added that, MTN believes in festivals of this nature, that aside its cultural values also develop the health status of the people due to the enormous physical activities involved in the festival which prevents all sorts diseases that arrest people because of lack of exercise.
