Which football match did you love this season? There have been plenty to choose from really, with everything from the English Premier Leauge to the La Liga in the last few months. Sure, it’s not just been about football.
We have had some great tennis and basketball matches as well. The NBA season for the 2017 and 2018 season has had J. Harden having a status of 114-107 F.
He also had as many as eleven assists and ten rebounds, making him the player to reckon with for many. People who loved basketball online betting, bet on him, and got the rewards they expected.
Sports bettors have had their hands busy with basketball online betting till the other day, but now that it’s football season, we expect more bets on it.
Which Game Did You Enjoy the Most?
It’s been a few months that we have been witnessing some great football action, and we have to ask you – which one did you like the most?
For us, we loved the Arsenal and Liverpool game for one, where the scoreline stood – Arsenal 3-3 Liverpool
One of the most spectacular matches at the Emirates saw three goals being scored in a matter of 5 minutes by the men of Arsenal. The Reds had a good lead, in the beginning, thanks to Mohamed Salah and Philippe Coutinho.
The game grew tenser as Alexis Sanchez and Granit Xhaka step up their game to score two goals for the Arsenal. The smooth goal by Mesut Ozil could have been the final nail in the coffin, but Roberto Firmino levelled the score for the Liverpool just in time.
The Ghanian Football Scene
However, while we can always revet up with the great English Premier League teams, simply because they have the money to splurge on recruiting some great players, we have to remember another thing – there needs to be more focus on homegrown talent for us.
The one thing that Ghana didn’t have, for instance, is an award ceremony to awards its talent, like the Balon d’ Or.
That’s exactly what the Ghana Football awards seems to fill in.
Tthe Ghana Football Awards
Launched last month on April 27 at Accra, the awards are presented by Kwesé Free Sports and AE Media Communications and meant for all Ghanaian footballers who have looked to make a difference in the last season.
So, you have nominees for every category from the Team of the Year to the Ghana footballers of the year, and the focus is to inspire the youth of the country to take up football. You also have other categories like the Goalkeeper of the year, with the board members including the likes of Augustine Arhinful and John Paintsil, and even retired FIFA referee Alex Kotey.
For this year, the winners will be announced at the Ghana Football Awards gala night, which will be held in June, as part of the build-up to the FIFA 2018 World Cup.
There are awards for both men and women, and it seems to ensure that football remains the nation’s passion, like always.
