The Ghana First Patriotic Front (GFPF) is shocked at the intransigence and defiance of the Akufo-Addo led government to carry out its plans to permit the establishment of a Permanent Military Base for the United States Armed Forces in Ghana, despite the overwhelming public revulsion against same.
Exactly a week today, several thousands of Ghanaians rallied around the ‘Ghana First’ slogan to demonstrate their rage against the infamous ‘Ghana-US Military Cooperation Agreement’.
The mammoth demonstration dominated local and international media space because it resonated with the majority of Ghanaians.
In response, the Government has only engaged in unconvincing and unpatriotic propaganda in a desperate attempt to shift blame to previous governments.
Clearly, President Akufo-Addo’s unusual silence, the government’s desperate attempts at equalization and unending cycle of contradictions on this crucial issue of national sovereignty cannot be countenanced.
In view of the adamant posture of the government on this issue, the Ghana First Patriotic Front (GFPF) has resolved to intensify pressure on the government to withdraw the agreement for reconsideration.
To this end, on *Wednesday April 11th, 2018 the Ghana First Patriotic Front will host a Mega Public Forum on this matter at the University of Ghana Law Faculty Auditorium at 4pm.*
Confirmed Speakers are:
*Dr. Obed Yao Asamoah*, Ghana’s longest serving Foreign Minister .
*Brigadier General Nunoo Mensah,*

*We have also decided to replicate the #PutGhanaFirst Demonstration in all ten regions of Ghana beginning from the Northern Regional capital of Tamale. Details on the Tamale demonstration will be communicated shortly.*

The Ghana First Patriotic Front remains resilient and will not countenance any attempt by the government to compromise Ghana’s Sovereignty.
